This Privacy Policy explains how Wadjaro (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit wadjaro.com (the “Site”). We aim to collect as little personal data as possible and to be transparent about what we collect.
1. Who we are
Wadjaro is an independent travel-information website offering guides and checklists. For any privacy question or request, please contact us through our Contact page.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. When you use our contact form or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the details you submit, such as your name, email address and message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting, security and analytics tools may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
3. Cookies and consent
We use cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are needed for the Site to function. Non-essential cookies (such as analytics) are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie-settings button.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve our content. Analytics runs only after you consent. Google processes this data on our behalf — see Google’s Privacy Policy. You may also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
5. Contact form
Messages sent through our contact form are stored in the Site’s database and delivered to us by email so we can respond. We use this information only to reply to your enquiry.
6. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send travel guides and updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
7. Affiliate links
Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and the partner site may set its own cookies. See our Affiliate Disclosure. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third-party sites.
8. Advertising
We do not currently display third-party advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and our cookie settings accordingly.
9. Embedded content and external links
Our pages may include embedded content or links to external sites (such as official government sources). Those sites behave as if you visited them directly and may collect data about you under their own policies.
10. Security
We use a security plugin that may log IP addresses and activity to protect the Site against malicious access, and our host keeps standard server logs.
11. How long we keep data
We keep contact-form messages and newsletter subscriptions only as long as needed to respond to you or until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics settings, and server and security logs are kept for a limited period.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us via our Contact page. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority — in France, the CNIL.
13. International transfers
Some of our service providers (such as Google) are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
14. Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.
16. Contact
For any question about this policy or your data, please reach us through our Contact page.
