Why Wadjaro exists
Most travel content is written to sell you a destination. Very little of it helps with the unglamorous part: what you actually need to sort out in the weeks before you fly. That gap is what Wadjaro is for. We are not trying to be a magazine or a booking site — we are trying to be the thing you open three weeks before departure when you want to be sure you have not missed anything.
Who it is for
People taking an international trip who want to prepare properly: first-time travellers, anyone flying somewhere unfamiliar, families juggling several sets of luggage, and experienced travellers who simply want a reliable checklist rather than a blank page. Wadjaro is published in English and French.
What we actually make
- Free interactive tools — a smart packing list generator that adapts to your destination, month, trip length and baggage type, and a trip budget calculator. Both run entirely in your browser, save your progress, and can be printed or shared.
- Interactive checklists for documents, packing, budget and safety that remember what you have ticked off.
- Practical guides on the things that go wrong: visas, insurance, baggage rules, airport timing, money abroad and staying safe.
The tools are built and maintained in-house by the same team that writes the guides. They require no account and collect nothing about your trip.
Who writes it
Wadjaro is independent and self-funded, run by a small editorial team rather than a publisher or a travel brand. Guides are published under Wadjaro Editorial, the team account we use for collectively researched and maintained content. We are not a government body, an airline, an insurer or a travel agency, and we are not affiliated with any of them.
Anything that can change — entry rules, visa requirements, baggage allowances, vaccination requirements — is written against the primary official source and linked so you can confirm it yourself. We will not tell you whether you personally need a visa or which insurance suits you; those answers depend on your nationality and circumstances, and getting them wrong has real consequences. How Wadjaro makes money
We would rather say this plainly than bury it. Wadjaro is free to use and carries no display advertising. Where we recommend a product or service, some links may be affiliate links — if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those sections are labelled, and a commission never changes what we recommend or what we say about it. We do not accept payment for positive coverage, and no commercial partner reviews or approves our content. If a recommendation is not genuinely useful, it should not be on the page.
